Leprechaun

Found at Carrigaphooka Castle.

Thanks to David from The Old Pretenders for giving me the opportunity to build a mummified Leprechaun.
I wanted to do it for some time.
I have always liked contrasts and the idea of an evil old mummified creature in a extravagant green suit and large hat really appealed to me.
I wanted him to look like an uncivilized creature trying to look civilized, clothes made up of  old handcherchiefs and stolen jewelry  The figure with box is about 35cm.

  2. Now that is really really cool.
I like the idea of an uncivilized creature trying to look civilized and I love his evil looking red beard. Is that real hair? It looks like a Leprechaun's beard should look like.
How did you manage to let it look like the hair actually sprang out of his skin?
It isn't glued. Or is it?

    Keep up your great work!

    1. It's blond hair from an old doll dyed red, it is glued actually, hard to explain how but i dip a bunch of hairs in glue and then kind of "brush" or "push" the ends on with a finger. It's tricky and there's probably a better way to do it, but it worked this time.

      Thanks for your compliment!

  6. Hi Jacob and Jacob fans...This is David from The Old Pretenders Studio, the new owner of this amazing piece, (the Leprechaun by Jacob). He is every bit as amazing and magical in person as in the photos and I highly recommend anyone thinking of asking or commissioning Jacob to make them a piece to do so before he get so famous for these amazing little mummified fairy folk that he is so busy to even fill his orders ;o)
    Thanks Jacob, you’re the best!
